This unique academy not only focuses on colt starting and horse training but also provides ongoing occupational training for chosen inmates post-incarceration. Upon completing the mustang inmate training program, selected inmates are offered scholarship opportunities to advance their vocational training and certification through the Leach Colt Starting Academy, situated in Bonita, AZ just west of Willcox. The foundation also facilitates the adoption of trained mustangs by the public and government agencies. Mustangs of America Foundation (MAF), established in 2007, is a 501(c)3 charitable organization supporting inmate programs in Nevada, Arizona, and California.
